SGRH BISI 2019

A BISI endorsed Workshop/ CME was held on the 26th of May 2019 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital with 32 registered participants and 4 in-house residents. This was held with the following academic intent:

This course was planned by the faculty to take attendees stepwise through everything (mostly) that they need to create a good BIRADS compliant report. That included talks on the BIRADS atlas, where they not only illustrated the descriptors, but also explained what the logic is behind BI-RADS, how to assign assessment categories, and appropriate management recommendations. They also explained how to localize lesions across imaging modalities and how to image properly. After that there were reading stations with cases; maybe 6 people to a station with each person assessing the cases individually. After that the faculty showed what they thought were the appropriate descriptors for the cases and discussed the findings on each of the cases. Following this, there were intervention workshops, including actual X-ray guided hook wire placement and biopsy. During the intervention time, the rest of the faculty was available for further discussion in case anyone was not interested in seeing the intervention demos. We also handed out reading material on a flash drive. This included multiple resources to help the attendees access information to further learning.

In addition, the event was held as a fundraiser for BISI with the help of our sponsor, BARD-BD India. The registration money was credited directly to the BISI account and after GST approximately Rs 50,000 was raised for the society. Expenses for the workshop/ CME were managed by the sponsor with the venue and setup costs handled partially by the host hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
