Eligibility Criteria
  • BISI membership – Candidate should be a member of Breast Imaging Society, INDIA for at least 1 year
  • Age – candidate should be less than 40 years of age.
  • PG in – Radiology (MD, DNB, DMRD)
  • Duration of training: 6 weeks
Curriculum

Understanding of basic and special mammographic views. Mammographic interpretation and reporting. Breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures. Understanding of principles and technique of Stereotatic core biopsy.

Selection Method

 The candidates has to submit an essay explaining why they would like to pursue a fellowship in Breast Imaging in about 500 words along with the application form. This will be followed by an interview conducted by the Executive Council members of BISI and two members from the organising committee of BISICON 2019, HYDERABAD.

Instructions to the candidate after selection

  1. The candidate has to write to the in-charge Breast Imaging consultant of the institution of choice and complete the formalities at the parent institution as instructed by them
  2. The initial amount to the parent institution should be paid by the candidate. On completion of the fellowship the grant will be released along with the completion certificate.
  3. If the centre that the candidate chooses is one of those that are not listed by BISI, it shall be approved by BISI after due consultations with the Breast Imaging Consultant at that centre, so as to ensure that adequate training facilities are available to fulfil the teaching curriculum.
  4. After the completion of the fellowship, the candidate should write feedback about the training to the members of the organising committee of BISICON 2019, Hyderabad. Also they should write an essay on their training experience and its usefulness which will be published in the subsequent BISI newsletter.
