2nd CME of East And North East chapter of BISI Held on 25.6.2016 at Guwahati Medical College
The second CME and Hands on training workshop of East and North east Chapter of Breast Imaging Society, India was held on 25th June 2016, at Gauhati Medical College ,Guwahati ,Assam. The program was organised by a committee under the Organising Chairmanship of Dr Bijit Kr, Duara, Prof & HOD, Radiology, Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati. The program was actively supported by BISI executive body members of Eastern Zone.
The CME and Hands -on -Training Workshop was very successful .It was attended by Consultant Radiologists, Faculty Members and Post Graduate students of Radiology,Radiotherapy & Surgery etc. of medical colleges of Assam; Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal; North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Shillong; etc. Heads of most of the departments of Gauhati Medical College were present. About 100 delegates attended the C M E.
Eminent Speakers from eastern India and out side eastern region were invited and delivered academic lectures with power point presentation on burning topics of Breast Imaging and Intervention. The session was inaugurated by Prof.(Dr) Atindra Kr Adhikari, Principal, Gauhati Medical College.
Dr. Phalguni Das, Consultant Radiologist, Primus, spoke on Basics of Mammography .
Dr. Robin Saikia, Adjunct Faculty, NEIGRIHMS, spoke on Basics of Breast Ultrasonography.
Dr. Suma Chakrabarthi, Consultant Breast Radiologist, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, delivered lectures on Breast interventions and Breast calcification.
Dr. Jyoti Arora, Sr. Consultant ,Onco Radiology and Women’s Imaging, Medanta the Medicity, delivered lectures on BIRADS & Breast Interventions, Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy with stereotactic Technique.
Dr. Akash Handique, Addl Prof ., NEIGRIHMS ,spoke on Non Breast Interventional techniques.
Dr. Sangeeta Taneja, Sr Consultant, Molecular imaging, Indraprastha Apollo, New Delhi, delivered lecture on Basics of Breast M R I.
Dr. Prem Kumar, Prof & HOD, Radiology , AIIMS, Patna spoke on Breast Masses.
Four sessions were held.

Hands on Workshop was arranged on Ultrasound guided Core Biopsy procedures.The session was conducted by Prof Prem Kumar, AIIMS Patna,

The C M E was concluded with Valedictory Session providing certificates with 2 CME points. Overall the CME was a grand success, and set the right tone for further Breast Imaging CME/ Conferences in the northeastern and eastern part of India.
